We are delighted to be publishing a new book entitled “Commercial and Insolvency Litigation in the DIFC 2022”.
The book follows on from the success of last year’s publication “Litigating the consequences of Covid-19 in the DIFC” and has been authored by a large group of our members with extensive DIFC experience between them.
The book is organised in a Q&A format and is split into three sections concerning interim remedies, contractual issues and insolvency proceedings in the DIFC. Over the next few days we will be publishing a short excerpt from each of the three sections before the book is itself published. The first excerpt, which asks whether the DIFC Courts can grant freezing orders in support of foreign legal proceedings, analyses the recent decisions in Lateef v Liela [2020] DIFC ARB 017 and Jones v Jones [2022] DIFC CFI. It is part of the interim remedies section which has been authored by Richard Hill KC, Alexander Cook, Edward Crossley, Emma Horner, Hossein Sharafi, Josh O’Neill and Elizabeth Walsh.
