The Court of Appeal has, following an urgent hearing before the Master of the Rolls, the Chancellor and Zacaroli LJ, ordered an expedited hearing of the appeal in the Thames Water restructuring plan to be heard over 11-13 March 2025.
Andrew de Mestre KC, coming into the proceedings at short notice, represented the Plan Company both before the Court of Appeal and in two other important hearings earlier this week at which the Plan Company was successful. At the first of those the Judge at first instance, Leech J, sanctioned the plan and allowed the Plan Company to commence implementation pending the appeal. At the second hearing, the Judge agree with the Plan Company that meetings should not be convened on an alternative restructuring plan commenced by a Class B debtholder.
