On the week commencing 22nd November, David Goddard, George Bompas QC, Richard Hill QC, Sharif Shivji QC, Alastair Tomson, Alexander Cook, Joseph Wigley, Edward Crossley, Andrew Rose, Albert Sampson, Guy Olliff-Cooper, Zara McGlone, Karl Anderson and Hossein Sharafi visited friends and clients in Dubai and attended the GREAT Legal Services and Ministry of Justice Trade Mission to the UAE. On the closing day of the Expo, ‘English Law Day’, Sharif Shivji QC joined a panel of speakers to discuss litigation and regulation in financial services.
The Expo, organised by the Bar Council of England and Wales in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, UAE-English Law Day brought together leading UK and UAE practitioners and business representatives to explore how English law can contribute to regulation and dispute resolution in various sectors and can play a part in establishing international best practice and setting universal market standards.
At the end of the week 4 Stone Buildings hosted a large dinner event for their clients and guests at the Ritz Carlton in the DIFC.
